The Management Committee of the National Study Abroad Fund announced the approval list of the second batch of international talent training programs for innovative talents (hereinafter referred to as "innovation projects") in 2019. With more than 17 million grants approved, NPU's "International Cooperation Program for the Training of Innovative Talents for Future Aerospace Flight Technology" was successfully selected, which is the first time the university has been approved for a multi-million-level innovation project. The head of the project is Professor Yue Xiaokui of the School of Astronautics, and the foreign partner universities are the University of Toronto in Canada and the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom (the two universities are ranked 28 and 29 in the QS World University in 2019 respectively).
The innovation project was set up by the National Scholarship Council to better serve national strategies, comprehensive reforms in education, and "double-class" construction. It focuses on supporting national strategies to serve, filling gaps in fields, urgently needed in key industries, and prospective interdisciplinary or interdisciplinary talent training programs. The expenses for studying abroad are fully borne by the National Scholarship Council.
Innovative projects and high-level public projects have greatly improved quality and efficiency, which will strongly support the training of international talents, promote the implementation of global expansion, and promote the construction of "double-class".
